I have a check written out to a certain center in Florida. The dollar amount is high because well, I sort of failed miserably in my commitment to keep a new posting schedule. But the rape crisis center’s renovation wins! As soon as I’m comfortable signing and mailing said check, they’ll be in for a tidy, tiny sum of money. Until then, groceries and rent.
It’s Jimmy’s birthday today. He’s awesome (and old). Read his blog here. Two fold mission accomplished: wished the boy happy birthday in a public forum and put pressure on him to update his blog.
After tonight’s Spring Premiere of Glee, I was the lucky winner of a blag of Madonna inspired glee goodies! Thanks, Garret!!!
Treme is so brilliant that after last night’s premiere, I was so excited it took me hours and hours to fall asleep. A new David Simon & Eric Overmeyer production does not bode well for my Monday mornings. But how often is it that something comes around that’s so good, it genuinely exceeds high expectations?

826LA
Going to orientation for 826LA later this week. I’m super excited to join their tutors. It’s a great organization with branches all over the country. Go to their website and give them your time and your monies!
The latest news is in the body of the blog this week, folks.
Just past the 20,000 words with my novel for NaNoWrimo and nearly halfway through the month. Go see Pirate Radio. Going to play catch up to get past 25,000 words this week. Go see Pirate Radio. I just bought my first car, and I can’t believe they let a kid like me drive something so shiny off the lot. Go see Pirate Radio. I also inherited fabulous furniture that was purchased new in the mid 70s. Go see Pirate Radio. You should see my card table with flower printed vinyl top. Go see Pirate Radio. And the black panther statue it came with. GO SEE PIRATE RADIO.
Past the 10,000 word mark with this NaNoWriMo challenge. Still not exactly one hundred percent sure where the story is headed, but I keep making things worse and worse for the characters so I think I’m writing in the right direction. I want to pick up the pace a bit too as I’m worried this idea may run a bit longer than 50,000 words, and I want to be done at the end of the month. Anyway, this whole exercise is more fun than it is excruciating (though that could change at anytime), and I think I’ll have a fleshed out script idea or two when I finish this rough draft.
Between the move from Canada back to the states and recovering from said move, I haven’t had much time to watch television or get to a movie theater. Although, I did get to see The Informant last night as it was still playing in theaters here. And I loved it. That would be the extent of a post on that… I’ll do my best to catch up with the help of the interwebs and weekday matinees. Things will stay interesting around here dammit!
I just heard Cliff, the amazing public defender from Veronica Mars, doing voice over for Clorox commercials. So sad… The guy’s got a terrific voice, in fact, the series exploited its radio quality many times. I’m happy he’s working, but man do I miss VMars.
